AUBURN – The Maine Band Directors Association has announced that its 22nd season of marching band shows will begin on Saturday, Sept. 17, with the 15th annual Twin Cities Marching Band Show at Edward Little High School’s Walton Field.
The Edward Little and Lewiston high school bands and their parent boosters will co-host the high school bands from Biddeford, Leavitt, Old Orchard Beach and South Portland. Admission to the show, which begins at 6 p.m., is $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.
The season will continue with shows at Wells High School on Saturday, Sept. 24; Westbrook High School on Saturday, Oct. 1; Sanford High School on Saturday, Oct. 8; Leavitt Area High School on Saturday, Oct. 15; and Biddeford High School on Saturday, Oct. 22. All shows begin at 6 p.m.
The 22nd annual Marching Band Finals, sponsored by the Maine Band Directors Association, will be held at South Portland High School on Saturday, Oct. 29. The show will begin at 5 p.m. Admission will be $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
The association is a nonprofit organization of member schools that provides educational performance opportunities for school instrumental music programs. Other events sponsored by the association include a Jazz Festival, Concert Band Festival and Winter Guard and Percussion Extravaganza.
