AUBURN – Veterans of Foreign Wars National Commander-in-Chief James R. Mueller of O’Fallon, Mo., has announced the appointment to Arthur J. Roy, past state commander, Department of Maine, VFW, to serve as vice chairman of the National Veterans Employment and Training Committee.

This will be Roy’s 13th national appointment in a row. He is presently serving as senior vice commander and post adjutant of the VFW on Minot Avenue.

Roy is quartermaster of VFW District 9, chairman of the Veterans Memorial Cemetery Association and public relations officer for the VFW Department of Maine. Recently, he was also nominated to the state Selective Service Board by Gov. John Baldacci and appointed by President George Bush. Roy resides on Russell Street in Lewiston.
