Square dance club helps hurricane relief effort

PARIS – The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club is joining other square dance clubs worldwide in contributing to the Dancers for Hurricane Katrina Fund.

Warehouse space in Charlotte, N.C., has been donated to house the supplies that are collected. Charlotte-area square dancers will supervise the effort, organizing the warehouse, loading trucks, and determining through FEMA where to deliver the supplies, and to which organizations.

The goal is to contribute $1 million and at least one tractor-trailer full of supplies.
