BATH – Carolyn M. Miller, 75, of Oak Grove Ave., Bath. died Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Winship Green Nursing Center.
She was born in Rockland on Oct. 14, 1929, a daughter of Herbert L. and Margaret Wellman Merrifield. She was educated in the Union schools and attended Union High School and Morse High School.
On Dec. 31, 1947, she married Hadley E. Smith and they made their home in Woolwich. Mr. Smith died July 1, 1963.
On Aug. 28, 1976, she married Hubert E. “Bud” Miller, and they made their home in Bath. Mr. Miller died April 2, 1985.
She worked at Richards Restaurant in Bath, and for the past 20 years, worked for Reality Resources at Oak Grove Apartments and was onsite building manager at Oak Ridge Apartments.
She was a member of the Bath Area Senior Citizens. She enjoyed bingo, knitting, crocheting, playing pogo games on the computer, and country music gatherings. Carolyn loved to organize the country music gatherings and bingo at Oak Ridge Apartment complex.
She also loved cats. Her cat Smokey was the mascot at the complex and her other cat Nuisance has been with her until she died.
She is survived by a son, Victor C. Smith and his wife, Marilyn, of Bath; three daughters, Kathleen E. Osnoe and her husband, Barry, of Litchfield, Janice M. Grondin and her husband, Roland Jr., of Lisbon, and Valetta G. and her husband, Adrian Larivere, of Lewiston; a stepson, Frank “Bucky” Jewett, of Lewiston; a half brother, Ronald Morris of Windham; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a special friend that she raised like her own daughter, Glennis Ashton, of Wiscasset; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by a great-grandson, Joseph McCole.
