RANGELEY – The Lakeside Dance Academy’s fall session will begin on Monday, Sept. 19, at the Congregational Barn. Pam Ellis, artistic director and instructor, has welcomed two advanced students into the role of instructor: Rachel Freihoff-Lewin will teach the beginner-level tap class and Raina Eustis will teach the beginner-level ballet class.
The Rangeley Friends of the Arts is including all academy dance classes in their grant program again this session. They have committed to funding every student enrolled so that the cost to families for each lesson is less than in previous years.
The schedule of classes is as follows:
Mondays, Ballet III for grades six to adult at 6 p.m.; pointe for grades six to adult at 7:15 p.m.
Tuesdays: tap I(beginners) for grades four to adult at 1:45 p.m.; Tap II (intermediate) for grades seven to adult at 2:30.
Wednesdays: Jazz 1 for grades four to six at 2:45 p.m.; Jazz II for grades seven to adult at 3:45 p.m.
Thursdays: Ballet I for grades one and two at 2:45 p.m.; Ballet II for grades three to five at 3:45 p.m.
All are welcome to take a first class free with no obligation.
Classes will meet 10 times weekly from Sept. 19 to Dec. 8 with makeups during the week of Dec. 12. All classes will reconvene in January for another session, culminating in the annual spring dance concert. Registration will be held at the first class meeting during the week of Sept. 19, at which time dance wear can be ordered. For more information, call Pam Ellis at 864-2556.
