Lions Club golf tournament
WATERFORD – The Waterford/Stoneham Lions Club is holding a golf tournament at Sunday River Golf Club in Newry on Monday, Sept. 26. It is the group’s first golf tournament and its major fund-raiser for the year. Scramble play begins at 9 a.m. Cost is $115 per player and includes 18 holes with a cart, awards and a barbecue lunch. There also will be an auction, a 50-50 raffle and a hole-in-one contest. FMI, call 583-2515.
CM point guard camp
AUBURN – Central Maine Community College is taking applications for its third-annual Point Guard Basketball Camp. The boys’ camp is Sunday, Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Girls’ camp is Sunday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The camp is open to students ages 12 to 17 and is designed to educate and improve the skills of the point guard. There will be both in-class on on-court instruction from former CMCC point guard Patrick Dempsey. Cost is $60 for the one-day session.
