LIVERMORE FALLS – After selectmen interviewed two candidates for town manager Monday, they reached a consensus to make an offer to one of them, board Chairman Ken Jacques said Tuesday.
A background check is being conducted, he said. Once that’s done, negotiations and final details will be worked out.
The candidate lives in Maine, he said.
Jacques said he doesn’t know if the selectmen will be voting on the nomination at Monday’s selectmen’s meeting.
“We’re going to try and make it happen as soon as possible,” Jacques said.
A search committee of two selectmen, town employees and two community members reviewed 22 applications for the town manager’s position vacated by Alan Gove in July.
The committee narrowed down the pool to six candidates for interviews and opted to put three of them before selectmen for consideration.
Two of the three candidates were interested in being interviewed, Jacques said.
