Thanks for the Carol Coultas’ article Sept. 9 on the generosity of Ed Foley, vice president of St. Lawrence and Atlantic railroad.
It is impressive that the railroad was hauling water, food and cleaning supplies to the hurricane area at no cost. Train transportation should be considered for all needs of freight and passengers.
While many people have been using intercity passenger rail for many years as a preferred mode of travel, train travel has received too little news coverage and support.
The article was a great start.
