Sign-up night

AUBURN – Boy Scout Troop 153 will hold sign-up night for ages 11 to from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at the New Auburn American Legion Post 153, 72 South Main St., New Auburn. Use the side door on Cook Street. A snack and albums of past Scouting events will be shown. Ages from 11 to 18 years old. Grange to install

WINTHROP – The public is invited to Winthrop Grange 209 for its installation of officers at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Grange Hall, Old Lewiston Road. The hall is handicapped accessible.

Jeanne Burnham of Saco Grange 53 and her installing suite will perform the ceremony. Burnham is a member of the State Grange Agriculture Committee and secretary of Saco Grange. Refreshments will be served by Eva Davenport and Joyce Jean.

Seniors lunch

AUBURN – The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Hasty Memorial Community Center. Lunch will be fried chicken. Members are reminded to bring their utensils and cups. Bingo will be played after lunch.

The fall fair will be Oct. 15; members can bring nonperishable items for food baskets that will be raffled, white elephant items and craft items to the meeting.

The club met Sept. 7 at the American Legion Hall with President Caroline Chapman presiding. Attendance winners were Betty Hebert and Marian Gayton; pot of gold, Joan Webb, Pat Edwards and Bob Atkins.

College workshop

LEWISTON – The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will hold a workshop on “The Essentials of College Planning” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Lewiston Career Center, 5 Mollison Drive. The session will be presented by Christy Le.

Adults considering college are invited to participate in the free college-planning workshop.

Services include assistance in choosing a college, tutoring, personal and financial counseling, career counseling, assistance in applying to college, workplace and college visits, and assistance in applying for financial aid. All services are free. People can call 1 (800) 281-3703 to register.
