LEWISTON – The Lewiston Democratic City Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Lewiston Multi-Purpose Center, Room B. The meeting is open to the public.

Alzheimer’s group plans charity walk

LEWISTON – The Alzheimer’s Association’s 15th annual Maine Chapter Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s disease will take place on Oct. 1 in 15 communities across the state.

Those communities include Lewiston-Auburn, Oxford Hills, Rumford and Farmington. Nearly 1,200 people are expected to participate statewide to raise funds for Alzheimer’s treatment.

The Memory Walk is the largest national fund-raising event to support individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Participants have raised more than $175 million for programs and services to support individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.

To register for the walk or to make a donation to Memory Walk, people may contact the Alzheimer’s Association at www.mainealz.or or at 800-660-2871.
