A pretty exhibition of hill climbing was given in Auburn yesterday afternoon when J.H. Walsh of Boston, who is at the State Fair with his handsome White touring car, took a party of friends up Goff Hill on high speed. It is a well known fact that the autos are not numerous in this vicinity that can “take” Goff Hill on “high speed,” but this is what Mr. Walsh did yesterday with four persons in the car.
However, with only two persons in the car, one besides himself, he started directly at the base of the hill, without making any “dash” to gain power, and climbed steadily to the tip top of this famous “grade.” It’s a stunt they’re not all doing.
