LEWISTON – A Community Dinner and Dance to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Pastime Club on Cedar Street. The suggested donation is $5 a person.

Rolly’s Diner staff and other concerned friends will host the event, which will include a dinner of homemade beans, casseroles, salads, breads and desserts. Live music will be provided by Augusta’s John Plummer of Sounds Unlimited.

“Everyone we have spoken to has been excited about this opportunity to raise money for the Hurricane Katrina victims,” said Rita Fournier, “We hope that a lot of the community will come out to dine and dance while assisting us in this worthy cause.”

The event will feature a silent auction and 50/50 raffle with items donated by local businesses. Those interested businesses or individuals can still donate to the auction.

All money collected will be sent to the hurricane relief effort. For more information, contact Fournier at 783-1530.
