Sarah Cherry was my niece. I want everyone to know the victim in her death is not Dennis Dechaine. The victim was Sarah Cherry, an innocent 12-year-old girl with a promising future. She had parents, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends who have all loved and have missed her every day since she was kidnapped and murdered by Dennis Dechaine. Sarah was the victim. Dennis Dechaine is not a victim. He is a convicted child killer. Let us not lose sight of that fact.

As for his supporters, most of them did not even know Sarah Cherry or Dennis Dechaine. For the most part, they did not attend the various hearings held or even the trial itself. They are being fed only the information the group Trial and Error tries to present as the truth.

The book, “Human Sacrifice,” is rife with inaccuracies and omissions. The book is worth reading only because of what it does not tell. It is definitely a biased and inaccurate representation of the facts.

I pray each day that this whole charade will end soon and the media coverage will stop giving credence to this killer’s supporters. Even with her death, Sarah and her family have not had a moment’s peace in 17 years, thanks to Dennis Dechaine and his misguided followers.
