LIVERMORE FALLS – Rain or shine, the Apple-Pumpkin Festival will host a variety of offerings Saturday, including crafts, baked goods, entertainment and games.

The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 1 in Union Street Park and the gazebo area. It is a week earlier than usual so it doesn’t coincide with the weeklong Fryeburg Fair, which begins Sunday, Oct. 2, said Jodi Cornelio, president of the Jay, Livermore, Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce.

There will be something for everyone, Cornelio said Monday.

There is no set schedule for most events, she said, they’ll be ongoing during the day.

There will be live music throughout the day, including Live Oak playing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and an open jam session about 2:30 p.m.

There will be pie-eating contests, skateboarding contests and a toss the apple into a carved pumpkin contest.

For those who want to challenge themselves and just have fun, there will be a climbing wall, dunk tank, the Tiger slide, two bounce houses and a wide variety of children’s games.

Radio Station WKTJ of Farmington plans to broadcast live from the festival, Cornelio said.

Crafters scheduled under the tent are: Brianna Allen, portraits and artwork; Eileen’s Handwoven Baskets; Gloria and Charles Hargenrader, lathe-turned wooden items, lamp shades, stained-glass mirrors and antler pens; Rose Country Crafts and Flowers, quilts, wall hangings, silk flower arrangements and various crafts; Homemade Originals by Pamela Boyd, handmade paper cards and tags, and various household items.

In the farmer’s market area, there will be a variety of fruits and vegetables along with crafts. Scheduled in the market area are: C-Farm, fruit, vegetables and homemade soups; Theresa Bilodeau, handmade pillows, quilted items, table scarves and knit items; Armand Bilodeau, gem crafts and wooden crafts; Faith Nichols, Home and Garden Party products. Also scheduled are Phyllis Marks, porcelain dolls, children’s table with sand art and blow-up teddy bears, and Erin Soule, rustic furniture, wooden crafts, purses and bookmarks.

A variety of vendors and organizations will also set up booths and offer a variety of goodies, activities and contests. The Healthy Community Coalition will have its mobile health unit at the festival and feature low-cost bicycle helmets and free blood pressure checks.
