LIVERMORE FALLS – Jon Smith scored a pair of goals to lead Dirigo to a 3-1 victory over Livermore Falls in MVC boys’ soccer action Monday.

The Cougars dominated the first half of a wet, rain-soaked contest to take a 2-0 lead into the half. Gary Holman rounded out the scoring for Dirigo.

Kevin Gats scored the lone goal for the Andies.

Goalie Lenny Hall had 11 saves for Dirigo, while Derick Neal turned back 18 shots for Livermore Falls.

Hall-Dale 2, Mt. Abram 1

SALEM – Fernarndo Barrientos scored and assisted on the game-winning goal by Oryan Lahti as Hall-Dale slipped past Mt. Abram, 2-1.

After a scoreless first half, Barrientos got the Bulldogs on the board, taking a throughball and shaking three defenders before blasting the ball into the opposite corner of the net.

Later in the half, Lahti one-timed a cross from Barrientos to make it 2-0.

Charlie Dexter pulled the Roadrunners within a goal, scoring on an assist by Blair Kemp, but Mt. Abram could not net the equalizer.

Paul Koenig stopped nine shots to preserve the win for the Bulldogs. Wyatt Johnson made five saves for the Roadrunners.

Carrabec 5, Jay 3

JAY – Sam Shaw scored four goals, including the game-winner, as Carrabec downed Jay 5-3 in a rainy and wet MVC showdown.

Shaw completed the hat trick in the first half, and opened the scoring in the second half, blasting home a pass from Ryan Trott for the decisive margin. Jake Goodwin also scored for the Cobras (4-4-1).

Ben Harvell netted a pair of goals to lead the Tigers, and Kyle Lewis got Jay (2-7) on the board in the first frame. Keeper Matt Roundy had six saves.

Danny Estes picked up the win for Carrabec, recording seven saves.
