LEWISTON – Emery A. Taylor Jr., 75, of Oxford, died Saturday, Sept. 24, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Oakland on April 9, 1930, the son of Emery A. Taylor Sr., and Geraldine Swift Taylor Urquart. He graduated from high school in West Paris and took classes in wastewater treatment operations.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II, and retired after 20 years of service. He later ran an electronics shop in South Paris, worked at Stewart’s Canning Co., in South Paris, and retired from Ocean Spray in Massachusetts.

He was a member of Paris Lodge 94 AF and AM. He loved camping and enjoyed golfing. He was on a bowling league in Massachusetts.

He is survived by his wife, the former Marie Allen, of Oxford; sons, James Taylor of Oxford, Daniel LaBrecque of Lakeville, Mass., and Gary A. Taylor, of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Yvette Taylor Lizotte of Oxford; a sister, Louise Flagg of Orange, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Steven LaBrecque; a brother, Gerald Taylor; and a sister, Eloise Edwards.
