RUMFORD – Hattie Wilson Dubois, 91, of Dixfield, died Friday, Sept. 23, at Rumford Community Hospital.

She was born on April 22, 1914, in Roxbury, a daughter of John and Rose Wilson. She attended Dixfield schools, where her teachers encouraged her to pursue a career in art.

She was married to Cephus Austin in Dixifield, and later married to Evangeliste “Eddie” Dubois in Dixfield.

She had a passion for life, always ready to travel and have fun at the drop of a hat, even at the age of 91. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing beano.

She is survived by two sons, Donald E. Austin of Summerville, S.C., and Daniel Austin of China Village; two daughters, Dorothy Crockett of Wilton and Mary Ward of North Conway, N.H.; a sister, Phyllis Jordan of Dixfield; and several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her former husbands, Cephus Austin and Evangeliste “Eddie” Dubois; a son, Ernest Austin; a brother, Carol Wilson; and sisters, Ellen Wilson and Evelyn Richards.
