LEWISTON – Ludger E. Galarneau, 84, of Mill Street, Auburn, died Sunday, Sept. 25, at d’Youville Pavilion.

Born in Lewiston on Dec. 27, 1920, a son of Ernest and Rosa (Saindon) Galarneau, he served his country in the U.S. Army and then came back to Lewiston and worked in the local shoe shops.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 153 in Auburn and was a member of the Boy Scout Committee.

He leaves one daughter, JoAnn Mann and her husband, Ernest, of New York; one son, Michael Galarneau and his wife, Colette, of Pittston; three grandchildren, Ted Mann of New York, Jerry Mann of Virginia and Thomas Galarneau of Pittston; and one brother, Bertrand Galarneau of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ann Galarneau, in 1997; and a sister, Cecile Goulet.
