ATKINSON, N.H. (AP) – Police say they’re on the verge of arresting two crooks posing as housecleaners.

Investigators say the two cleaned out their customers, stealing jewelry and other valuables, including a diamond and sapphire ring worth $20,000.

Police say they hope to make an arrest soon. They say the suspects have posed as cleaners in 11 towns in Rockingham and Hillsborough counties. Detectives say they tracked the thieves through a paper trail of pawn tickets.

Three companies were involved in the complaints, but police declined to release the companies’ names.
