CANTON, N.Y. – St. Lawrence University welcomes the following students as members of the class of 2009.
Each freshman will participate in St. Lawrence University’s innovative First-Year Program, an introduction to the liberal arts curriculum taught in residence halls by faculty teams. Clear writing and speaking skills are stressed, and careful advising is provided for all freshmen.
John A. Melhus of Norway; Melhus graduated from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris.
Sean M. Murphy of Leeds; Murphy graduated from Leavitt Area High School in Turner.
Matthew B. Sonagere of Auburn; Sonagere graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn.
Syracuse University
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The following area residents were among the approximately 3,500 new students who have enrolled at Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y., for the 2005-06 academic year. Syracuse’s new students are studying from among the more than 200 majors offered at the institution.
Krista Flynt of Poland. Flynt is enrolled in SU’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications majoring in magazine journalism.
Elizabeth Kankainen of Kingfield. Kankainen is enrolled in SU’s School of Architecture majoring in architecture.
