FARMINGTON – Wendy Lou Wyman, 37, of North Jay, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, Sept. 25, at Franklin Memorial Hospital surrounded by friends and loved ones. She fought a long, courageous and inspiring 16-year battle with cancer.

She was born on May 10, 1968, in Rumford, a daughter of Milford and Maxine (Drown) Wyman. She attended Jay schools, graduating in 1987. She went on to become a loving C.N.A., working at Sandy River Nursing Care Center until she became ill.

Those who were privileged to know her will always remember her loving concern for others. Her reply to questions about her continuous battle with pain and unending treatments was, “I’m hanging in there.”

Her love for the Lord, her family and friends dominated every conversation. Her leisure time was spent doing crafts for others. She crocheted doilies and blankets, and made plastic canvas flags. Her love for handcrafts was incessant, even after losing the sight in her right eye and partial sight in her left.

She was a beloved and faithful member for many years of the Bean’s Corner Baptist Church. She enjoyed photography, singing, her beloved 15-year old cat, “Billy,” the Grange and cancer support.

She is survived by her parents, Milford and Maxine Wyman of North Jay; a sister, Dawn McArthur and her husband, Ralph, and their children, Elizabeth, Evan, Elliot, Emily and Erika of Farmington; a brother, Michael Wyman and his son, Brandon, of Jay; maternal grandparents, Lendall and Clara Drown of Jay; aunt and uncle, William and Blinda Burgess of Quincy, Mass.; aunt and uncle, Kenneth and Carol Hill; special aunt, Bea Curtis; and several special relatives including, Barbara Morse, Hannah Stanley, Donald Tilton, Marilyn Morse and Nancy Frost.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Edith Hill.
