I recently read the new laws that will affect smokers, motorists and snowmobilers.

The new laws are good and make sense except one that really caught my eye.

I actually had to read the paragraph three times because I couldn’t believe what I was reading. There’s a new law that will allow charitable nonprofit organizations to stage roadblocks to collect donations from passing motorists, provided they have local approval. I’ve never heard of such a thing. My first thought was how are we supposed to know it really is a charitable nonprofit organization when we are stopped? This law is absurd and dangerous. What if we were stopped for a roadblock and it is not legitimate? What then?

I feel there are enough ways to give to nonprofit organizations without having to set up roadblocks.

I am wondering who comes up with these new laws and, most of all, who passes them. Did I miss something? Was there a survey out in regard to this new law?

Lastly, please tell me this new law was a very bad misprint.
