LEWISTON – Al Franken al fresco, also.
People who were too late to get a ticket to Al Franken’s sold-out show Saturday at Bates College will still have a chance to hear and see him – outdoors.
Weather permitting, overflow seating and closed-circuit television will be provided next to Bates Chapel, where Franken will begin his talk at 6 p.m. The overflow seating is being provided free by Bates College and Bates Democrats.
Before Franken’s talk, he’ll be the guest at a reception in Chase Hall Lounge, 56 Campus Ave. Those who want to pay $30 to attend the reception will receive seats for the chapel event. For more information, call Will McElhinny, president of Bates Democrats, at (207) 240-6147.
Franken is doing benefit performances at Bates and Bowdoin colleges for the Maine College Democrats. He is one of the original writers and performers on “Saturday Night Live,” author of “Rush Limbaugh is A Big Fat Idiot,” and is a talk radio host on Air America Radio.
