GREENE – Sheriff’s officials are investigating a Greene man accused of sexually abusing and photographing a 15-year-old in late summer.

Larry Collins Jr., 38, of Route 202, was arrested earlier this month on charges of sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Collins was charged Sept. 1 and later released from jail. Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Sgt. William Gagne said the case against him is still being investigated, and more charges could be filed.

In late August, the Department of Human Services began investigating after it heard allegations that Collins was molesting the teenage Sabattus girl.

Shortly after that, DHS officials contacted the Sheriff’s Office and a police investigation began. Collins was arrested after detectives said they found evidence that the girl had been abused and that she had been photographed in sexually explicit poses.

Collins could face 10 years in prison on the sexual exploitation charge and five years for the charge of sexual abuse of a minor. He could not be located for comment on Thursday.
