LEWISTON – Constance “Connie” G. Picard, 74, of 45 Rideout Ave., Lewiston, went home to her maker on Friday, Sept. 30, after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away at her home, surrounded by family.

Born in Lewiston on Sept. 7, 1931, she was the daughter of George and Imelda Gagne Bosse. Educated in Lewiston schools, she worked for many years in the local shoe industry and retired from Bates College.

Her greatest pleasure in life was being with her family, especially her grandchildren, and watching her beloved Red Sox.

She leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Paul R. Picard; her children, David and his wife, Priscilla, of New Hampton, N.H., Lisa and her husband, Pat Rines, of Leeds, Debbie and her husband, Alton “Butch” Polley, of Greene; Brian Picard of Lewiston, seven grandchildren, Patrick and Jason Rines of Leeds, Jacob, Emma and Justin Polley of Greene, Jennifer and George Kalioris of New Hampton, N.H.; and in-laws, Don and Kathy Picard of Glastonbury, Conn., Oscar Picard of Wells, and Doris Picard of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

She was a kind and loving person who will be missed by all, but we know that she is now in a better place.
