TURNER – Paintings by 63 artists will be exhibited from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Turner Center for the Arts in the Leavitt Institute Building on Turner Center Road.

It will be the grand opening of the Autumn Open Juried Exhibit, featuring 82 pieces from the 183 submitted to the jury. The exhibit will be on display until Nov. 18.

Jennifer Wadsworth, chairwoman of the Steering Committee for the center, said, “The group is excited to be presenting this first show in our gallery; we are especially pleased with the supreme quality of the art to be shown. Submissions from 63 talented artists for this first exhibit certainly demonstrate the need for this space and this facility.”

The Turner Public Library on the third floor of the Leavitt Building, and the Turner Museum and Historical Association on the fourth floor, will also be open from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, making this the first complete unveiling of what is now the cultural center of the community. The building has an elevator and is fully accessible.
