AUBURN – There are still openings for the Ninth Annual Mike Bordick Golf Classic at Martindale Country Club in Auburn on Monday, Oct. 3. All proceeds benefit the Maine Children’s Cancer Program and the Boys and Girls Club of Lewiston. Entry fee is $500 per foursome, which includes golf, cart, lunch and dinner. Goding’s Tae Kwon Do Kick-A-Thon

WILTON – Goding’s Tae Kwon Do is preparing for their 6th annual Kick-A-Thon fundraiser. The kick-a-thon will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Goding’s Tae Kwon Do on Wilton Road.

Each year a program or non-profit organization within the community is selected to receive the profit from this event. The students unanimously this year chose the American Red Cross. All proceeds will go to help those who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The kick-a-thon involves and adults and children from the school doing as many kicks as possible without stopping.

Last year the students raised over $3,500 and hope to do even better this year. The public is welcome to come watch and cheer on the young students as they try to help others.

YMCA/YWCA Swim Team starting season

AUBURN – The YMCA of Lewiston/Auburn and YWCA of Central Maine are preparing to kick off the 2005-06 Twin Cities Swim Team season. To register or FMI, call 795-4095 or 795-4050.
