AUBURN – For the second day, police were not releasing details about a Saturday night stabbing that left an Auburn teenager with multiple knife wounds.

Stephen Braithwayite, 20, of Monmouth, was charged with aggravated assault in the attack that occurred shortly before midnight near the Big Apple on Main Street.

Police said the victim was stabbed several times, but they did not provide details about what led to the incident or release the name of the teenage boy who was cut.

Without an identification, the victim’s medical condition could not be obtained Monday night. Auburn police said they believed the teen was still at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Braithwayite was arrested and taken to the Androscoggin County Jail. He was released Sunday night after posting $1,500 cash bail, according to a jail official.

Braithwayite could not be located for comment on Monday.
