TURNER – Nick Bergoin stepped up with two goals, including the game winner in double overtime, and an assist to lead Leavitt to a 3-2 victory over Morse.
A waved-off Leavitt goal with one second left in the contest forced the two teams into overtime before Bergoin capitalized on a pass from Kenny Maher to notch the winning goal. Maher also scored for the Hornets (3-8).
Morse (3-7-1) scored back-to-back goals in the second half with only 10 players after a red card in the first half. Nick Barrington and Brandon Noltkanter were credited each with an unassisted goal.
EL 1, Oxford Hills 1
SOUTH PARIS – Edward Little and Oxford Hills dueled to a 1-1 tie in double overtime in a boys’ KVAC soccer matchup Tuesday.
Andrew Ward tallied the first goal of the game after picking up the ball from a scramble in front of the net and popping it in for the Vikings (0-10-1).
Although Oxford Hills tried to hold on to the lead, Edward Little (8-2-1) stepped up the pressure and tied the game with 28 left in the contest. Carl Skilling gathered the ball up and rocketed a shot from 35 yards away to even the score.
Mt. Blue 3, Lawrence 0
FARMINGTON – Devin Ferreira netted a pair of goals as Mt. Blue slid past Lawrence to post a 3-0 victory in a boys’ soccer contest Tuesday afternoon.
Dan Haden started the scoring efforts for the Cougars (7-4), converting a pass from Zack Conlogue. Ferreira then scored back-to-back goals to give Mt. Blue the insurance for the rest of game.
Justin Davis turned aside 13 shots to preserve the Cougars’ shutout, while Mike Brooks made nine saves for the Bulldogs (6-5).
Oak Hill 1, Belfast 1
BELFAST – Oak Hill and Belfast played two fruitless overtimes, as the two teams drew to a 1-1 tie.
Belfast (2-6) scored first, with a goal by Jaime Jaramille with 25 minutes remaining in the first half. Oak Hill (3-7-1) tied the game with five minutes left in the contest on a direct kick from 30 yards out by Nathan Lavoie.
Both keepers were strong in net. Korey Vanek made 13 saves for Belfast, while Oak Hills’ Derek Kelley turned aside 12 shots.
