Seniors luncheon

MONMOUTH – The Golden Age Club will meet for a noon potluck luncheon Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Packard Activity Center. Someone will talk about the new Medicare Part B program and there will be some balloon pictures available to view.

Rotary speaker

LEWISTON – Members of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club will meet at noon Thursday, Oct 6, at the Ramada Inn on Pleasant Street to hear JoAn Chartier speak about the mission and work of the Good Shepherd Food Bank at noon Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Ramada Inn on Pleasant Street.

Anyone who wants to hear the speaker or learn more about Rotary is welcome. Weekly buffet luncheons are $8 per person.

Travelers to meet

AUBURN – Members of Twin City Council 160 of the United Commercial Travelers of America and Canada will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Odd Fellows Hall on Elm Street. After the business meeting, they will dine at a local restaurant. All members and guests are welcome.

Speaker slated

BRUNSWICK – The Chamberlain Civil War Round Table will meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Brunswick Junior High School Cafeteria. Michael Schelhammer of Arlington,Va., will speak on “Soldiering is not Play: The Challenges of Leadership in Volunteer Regiments.”

The meeting is free and open to the public.

Masonic meeting

AUBURN – Ancient Brothers Lodge 178, AF and AM, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.

The meeting will be preceded by a supper at 6:30. All Masons are welcome.

Post to convene

AUBURN – Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion and auxiliary, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at the post home, 426 Washington St. Post 31 welcomes military veterans, national guardsmen and army reservists. For more information, call Bob St. Pierre at 783-2340.

Bridge play

NEW GLOUCESTER – New Gloucester Bridge Club met Sunday at the Masonic building where a 3 table Howell movement was enjoyed. Finishing first in flight A were Martine Begert and Rosemarie Goodwin. Second were Darcy Page and Les Buzzell, with Marta Clements and Claire Lyons third, who also were flight B winners. Second in flight B were Bunny Banks and Richard Balian.

Another game will be held at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at the Masonic building. A partner is guaranteed, for information call Les Buzzell 783-4153 or cell 754-9153.
