NORWAY – The Sunday service for Oct. 9 at the First Universalist Church, Unitarian Universalist, 479 Main St., will begin at 11 a.m. Child care will be provided. Choir practice is at 9:30 with Heather Pierson, music director.

Nancy Willard, member of the board at The First Universalist Church of West Paris, will lead the service. Her sermon topic is “Passages.” After the service there will be a coffee hour. Reunion Sunday

PARIS – Reunion Sunday will be celebrated Sunday, Oct. 9, at the First Universalist Church of South Paris. This is a special service held annually during which members and friends from the past and from today gather for worship and fellowship together. The Rev. Dr. Robert Sallies will lead the 10 a.m. service. His Sermon is titled, “Religion and Morality.” Music will be by Forest Perkins, church organist, and Renee Wales, flutist.

The Sunday School will be under the direction of Renee Wales. Child care is provided. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.

AARP luncheon

PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet Monday, Oct. 10, at the 1st Congregational Church on East Main Street, South Paris. A noon luncheon of macaroni and cheese will be served. Reservations required by noon Friday, Oct. 7. Call Henrietta at 743-6722 for reservations. The meeting is at 1 p.m. followed by the speaker, Bernie Dunn, who will talk about e-Bay.

Benefit sale

OXFORD – Bert and Fran Rugg, executive directors of His Place Teen Center at 254 Webber Brook Road, are looking for good saleable items for a Columbus Day yard sale. Anyone with items to donate can call Bert Rugg at 743-9503 or Sandy Smith at 539-2972 for pick up.

The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, on Route 26 near the fish market. Proceeds will go toward the building fund.

Extension event

PARIS – The Oxford County Extension invites the public to its annual meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the First Congregational Church in South Paris.

Registration begins at 5:45 p.m., followed by a turkey dinner at 6:15. Cost of the dinner is $7. The program will focus on Native American artifacts with Rodney Kimball of Waterford.

Reservations with dinner payments are due in the Extension office by Oct. 14. For more information, call the Extension office at 743-6329 or 1-800-287-1482.
