LEWISTON – A commemorative plaque containing the names of 53 men of Lewiston High School who made the supreme sacrifice in World War II has been recently restored and will be rededicated and placed in the Memorial Courtyard Garden at the school in November.

The plaque has been displayed for many years in the lobby of the old high school, now known as Lewiston Middle School. A simple rededication ceremony is being planned and the school would like to contact family members of the men whose names are on the plaque so that they may attend. The names are as follow:

Frank V. Banaitis, Donald F. Barry, Wilfred R. Blais, John Cassidy, Stanley V. Clark, David Clarry, Paul E. Conley, Laurier F. Coulombe, Normand Dionne, James A. Donahue, Paul E. Dostie, Lawrence E. Dube.

Also, Fernand G. Duchesneau, Dominque G. Dutil, Joseph T. Elie, Armand A. Forgues, Fernand Gagnon, Thomas J. Gagnon, Joseph Garnier, Robert C. Gilman, David L. Golder, Paul A. Gousse, George Yorke Griffin.
