I find myself needing to respond to the article in the Sept. 29 newspaper regarding Paul Madore’s protest.
Indeed, it is the actions and attitudes of Paul Madore and people like him that make it necessary to have a state law prohibiting discrimination. Thank you to Chip Morrison, Rene Dumont and the Rev. Michael Seavey for their willingness to speak honestly and courageously against discrimination, intolerance and hatred.
They are people who serve this community with wisdom, kindness, commitment and peace. I am honored to say that I know Mike Seavey, as a priest, as a kind and compassionate man and as a life teacher.
What would Jesus do? We can only guess. But what we know is what he did do. He taught compassion, tolerance and love. I believe that he is proud of his faithful servant, the Rev. Michael Seavey.
