SABATTUS – Bishop Edward C. O’Leary Council 13181, Knights of Columbus, welcomed a brother Knight, David W. Devoe, from Iraq while he was on a 14-day leave.
Devoe arrived home on Sept. 23. The council presented him an Armed Forces Certificate at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sept. 25 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church.
The Rev. Robert Parent presented the certificate, which read, “Presented as an expression of grateful appreciation for his active service in defense of mankind’s basic right to a life of freedom and dignity.”
The council presented the Devoe family a gift certificate to a local restaurant. They have five children. Devoe is a lector and his wife, Debra, is a Eucharistic minister. She is also a Cub Scout leader.
Parent was presented a Knights of Columbus certificate of appreciation in gratitude for priestly dedication from Supreme Knight Carl A. Andrewson.
