CARRABASSETT VALLEY – The 50th wedding anniversary of Howard and Laura Dunham of Carrabassett Valley was celebrated recently at Sugarloaf Touring Center. Granddaughters of the couple, Jessica and Jennifer Jordan, were party hosts.

Bouquets of wild flowers were on the tables and a buffet was served. A matted photograph of the couple was signed by everyone.

Mr. Dunham and the former Laura Hall of New Portland were first married on Jan. 1, 1954, were divorced for a year, and remarried in 1974. They have two children, Debra Jordan of Carrabassett Valley and Kim Nile of Tioga, Pa.

Their grandchildren are Jennifer Jordan and Jessica Jordan of Bradenton, Fla., Justin Jordan of Kingfield and Christi Niles and Samantha Nile of Tioga, Pa. They also have three great-grandchildren, Avery and Tanner Roux of Florida and Kiley Coolidge of Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Dunham is currently a part-time photographer and correspondent for the Sugarloaf Irregular. She retired from the Morning Sentinel and Sun Journal, after working for 25 years. She is a member of the Norton/Wuori American Legion Auxiliary and the Red Snappers.

Mr. Dunham is retired from International Paper Co. and is employed part-time at Jordan Lumber Co. in Kingfield. He is a member of the Norton/Wuori American Legion Post. They spend their winters in Florida.

Original wedding attendants present were Dise and Bud Dunham of Kingfield, his brother.
