There is a problem with children 5 to 15 years old obeying road rules in our community. While I was driving home from work recently, children were riding their bicycles in the road and refused to move out of the way.
Children’s lack of respect for traffic is frustrating. I would like to know where the lack of respect comes from. I would like to ask parents if they know how their children behave on the road? If the parents won’t listen, then they also don’t know the disregard of safety their children have for themselves and the danger they inflict upon themselves by not getting out of the road for oncoming cars.
Children need to start being more respectful of traffic and parents need to get involved to find out what their child is doing to be a safe rider.
