I read an article in the Sept. 14 Sun Journal. It was about a 32-year-old man who died trying to save his 21-month-old baby.
The parents left him in the vehicle alone. The boy wasn’t even two years old yet, so why was he in the SUV alone?
It was a very brave thing that the boy’s father tried to do, but babies still shouldn’t be left unattended at any time of the day. They should always be watched. Any parent should know before they have kids that there are responsibilities that come with them. They need to be supervised at all times.
Parents should not leave any children in any sort of vehicle alone. I don’t care how busy they are, or even if they just stepped out for a minute to talk to a friend. Anything can happen just like that.
Don’t get me wrong, the father did the right thing by trying to stop the car from rolling, but if he would have never left the boy in the car, he wouldn’t have had to chase it.
I’m terribly sorry for his family and friends. I hope the son turns out fine and has a good life. I’m sorry for the pain that they have been experiencing. The father was a brave man for what he did, and I think he would have been a great dad. How sad he can’t be there to see his child grow up.
