DAYTON – Two people were killed and two were injured Saturday when a tow truck crossed the Route 5 center line and caused a series of accidents.

Police said Keith Cluff, 31, of Kennebunk, was driving south just before noon when he crossed the center line. His tow truck glanced off a car driven by Andre Bergeron Jr., 46, of Waterford, then hit head-on a car driven by Heather White, 31, of Biddeford. White’s car hit a car driven by Dayvid Foss, 31, of Waterboro.

Two of White’s passengers, Norman White, 31, of Biddeford, and Anthony Mazza, 56, of Vermont, were killed. White and another passenger, Elizabeth Mazza, 54, of Vermont, were injured and taken to Maine Medical Center. A 1-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital but was not injured.

State police are still investigating the cause of the crash, but they said alcohol was not a factor. All drivers were licensed and without suspensions.

Cluff was driving for DC Towing in Kennebunk.
