Quilters’ demo

FARMINGTON – Maine Mountain Quilters will have a special demonstration at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at St. Joseph Parish. Marsha Hohn will be the guest speaker.

Safety is topic

FARMINGTON – The forestry class of 2005/2006 will demonstrate safety techniques from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Labonville, on Route 2. The agenda will include personal protective equipment, how to dress safely in all weather conditions, safe operation of a chainsaw and how the operator can use safe techniques to reduce the chance of injury.

Fall job fair

WILTON – The CareerCenter will hold a fall job fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Wilton CareerCenter, Route 2. The public is invited to attend the free event. The following employees will be on hand to talk to potential employees: Formed Fiber Technologies, Senior Community Services Employment Program, Sugarloaf, Nestle Waters of North America, Care and Comfort, Combines Insurance, LEAP, AFLAC, Department of Transportation, BE and K, Wal-Mart, Sunday River, Bonney Staffing and Affiliated Computer Services.
