SOUTH PARIS – Kaitlyn Crockett found the back of the net with less than nine minutes remaining in the first half to lift Oxford Hills to a 2-1 victory over Mt. Blue in a late-season KVAC field hockey matchup Tuesday. Tierra Durgin tallied the Vikings’ (7-7) first goal and joined Jaimee Brett in assisting on Crockett’s game-winner. Aleksys Pike made 10 saves in net to notch the win.
Alyssa St. Pierre scored the Cougars’ (9-5) lone goal remaining in regulation. Ashley Lewia turned aside nine shots in net for Mt. Blue.
St. Dom’s 5, Traip 0
AUBURN – Elisha Dorso recorded a hat trick and added two assists to lead St. Dom’s to a 5-0 rout over Traip in a regular season field hockey finale Tuesday afternoon.
Kayla McKay scored two goals and had two assists for the Saints (12-2) to complete the scoring. Austyn Carolin needed only three saves in net to preserve the shutout.
Wells 2, Gray-New Gloucester 1
GRAY – Katelyn Lewia scored a goal just over four minutes into overtime to lift Wells to a 2-1 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in more late-season WMC field hockey action. Bria Vanshach also tallied for the Warriors (2-12) to complete the scoring. Hallie Woods made five saves in net to notch the win.
Shaina Cabana scored the Patriots’ (0-14) lone goal at the 24:41 mark in the second half with an assist from Jenn Larocque. Samantha Bishop handled netkeeping duties, turning aside 16 shots fired in her direction.
Lawrence 3, Edward Little 0
FAIRFIELD – Heather Gilman led a trio of players to score goals Tuesday as Lawrence rolled past Edward Little 3-0 in more KVAC field hockey action. Sarah Brown and Heather Stevens also tallied for the Bulldogs (4-9) to round out the tally.
Casey McPhail made six saves in net to preserve the shutout. Mary Martin held fast between the posts for the Red Eddies (5-9), turning aside nine shots in a solid effort.
Leavitt 2, MCI 1
TURNER – Sarah Quimby scored the game-winning goal at the 2:43 mark in overtime off a pass from Alexandra Naylor to give Leavitt a 2-1 victory over MCI. Leavitt’s (11-3) Jessica Paladino netted the first goal 2:26 into the game off a feed from Tiffany Poland.
Ellen Wagner scored the game-tying goal for MCI (3-10-1) unassisted at 23:32 in the second half.
Old Orchard Beach 4, Poland 1
OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Courtney Rague netted a hat trick as Old Orchard Beach posted a 4-1 win over Poland in field hockey action Tuesday afternoon.
The Seagulls (7-6-1) scored all four of their goals within the first ten minutes of the game. Sam King rounded out the scoring effort. The lone goal for the Knights (2-11-1) came in the second half by Jessy Hodgkiss off a pass from Kit Levine.
Oak Hill 3, Lincoln 2
WALES – Mae Nadeau tallied a pair of goals and contributed an assist as Oak Hill edged past Lincoln 3-2 in girls’ field hockey.
Katey Campbell added a goal to the Raiders’ (3-10-1) win. Brittany Clark and Chelsea Dow were solid on midfield defense. Frankie Curtis had a strong day in net, turning aside 17 shots including a penalty stroke. Lincoln (2-11-1) goals were scored by Nikki Poland and Kristy Hammond.
Soccer
Lisbon 1, Wiscasset 0
LISBON – Megan Latour tallied the only goal Lisbon would need to top Wiscasset 1-0 in a girls’ MVC soccer match-up Tuesday afternoon.
Latour knocked in the goal after picking up a throw-in from Ashley Mason in the second half of the contest for the Greyhounds (7-3-3) win.
Sam Purcell needed to make only four saves to preserve the shutout. Wiscasset’s (5-5-2) Megan Foye stopped seven shots in the effort.
Maranacook 5, Oak Hill 0
WALES – Alysa Neptune and Jackie Mrazik netted two goals apiece to lead Maranacook to a 5-0 romp over Oak Hill in a KVAC girl’s soccer matchup Tuesday.
Jillian Blouin also tallied for the Black Bears (11-1-1) to complete the scoring. Eryn Neptune contributed with two assists, while Melissa Piper made four saves in net to preserve the shutout. Shannon Bean and Hannah DeAngelis played a strong game defensively in the center fullback position. Courtney Seguin handled netminding duties for the Raiders (2-10-1), turning away 22 shots on the day.
Lewiston 4, Leavitt 2
TURNER – Laura Martel scored back-to-back unanswered goals in the second half to propel Lewiston a 4-2 victory over Leavitt in KVAC soccer action Tuesday.
Mallory Long started the scoring for the Blue Devils (9-2-2) off a pass from Ali Morin. Leavitt’s Melissa Stevenson tied the game at 1-1 after capitalizing on a penalty kick. Martel came back and tallied her pair of goals, before Amanda LePage netted the fourth and final goal for Lewiston.
Erin Page converted a pass from Ashley Naylor with 45 seconds remaining in the game to round out the Hornets (4-7-2) scoring effort.
Winthrop 1, Hall-Dale 0
FARMINGDALE – Melissa Nguyen converted a pass from Jenn Douglas at the 27:26 mark of the second half to lift Winthrop to a 1-0 victory over Hall-Dale.Katie Pushard made 11 saves in net for the Ramblers (8-3-2) to notch the win.
Chelsea Dionne handled netkeeping duties for the Bulldogs (4-7-1), turning away five shots fired in her direction.
Mt. Blue 1, Skowhegan 0
SKOWHEGAN – Elizabeth Stancioff scored an unassisted goal with 27:28 remaining in regulation to lift Mt. Blue to a 1-0 victory over Skowhegan in more KVAC girl’s soccer action.
Caitlin Scott turned away all 11 shots fired at her to preserve the shutout. The Cougars (6-5-2) outshot the Indians (1-11-1) 16-11 on the day, and found accuracy when it counted.
Oxford Hills 9, Cony 0
SOUTH PARIS – Jenny Pietroski tallied a hat-trick and had an assist as Oxford Hills dominated over Cony 9-0 in girls’ soccer Tuesday.
Terry Bunce, Emily Levine, Aly Fox, Kari Pelletier, Whitney Linindoll, and Jill Rich each netted a goal for the Vikings (5-5-3) win.Sam Rivers needed to make only two saves to preserve the shutout and win for Oxford Hills.
Dirigo 3, Mountain Valley 0
RUMFORD – Katie Hutchinson led a trip of players to record goals Tuesday as Dirigo rolled past Mountain Valley 3-0 .
Jasmine Jacques and Katherine Gonyea also tallied for the Cougars to complete the scoring. Christina Chow needed only three saves to preserve the shutout.
Karri McPhearson handled netkeeping chores for the Falcons (2-8-3), turning aside 18 shots.
