JAY – Aaron Adams tallied a pair of goals as Mt. Abram swept past Jay, posting a 5-1 win in boys’ MVC soccer action on Wednesday afternoon.
Donald Chretien, Tucker Lander, and Alex Crossman each contributed a goal to the Roadrunners’ (6-6-2) win. Dave Fullerton dominated on defense for Mt. Abram.
The Tigers (4-9-1) came out strong in the first half of the contest, but relented to the Mt. Abram pressure in the latter half of the game. John Gilbert netted the lone Jay goal after heading it into the net.
Mountain Valley 3, Telstar 2
BETHEL – Jon Gamble netted the game-winning goal, picking up a crossed pass at the six-yard line and redirecting it in to the net to lead Mountain Valley to a 3-2 victory over Telstar in boys’ soccer on Wednesday.
Gamble opened the Falcons’ (6-7-1) scoring and contributed an assist to the win as well. Byron Glaus rounded out the scoring.
A Telstar (10-4) goal was called back in the first half of the contest after a controversial offsides call, which would have given the Rebels a 2-1 lead going into the second half of the contest. Louis Thornton and Max Meader each scored for the Telstar effort.
