BETHEL – Mallory Brown netted her third hat trick of the season to give Telstar the edge as the Rebels walked off with a 6-0 win over Dirigo in a MVC field hockey matchup on Wednesday.

Liz Rosenberg added two goals and an assist, while Tara Lunney chipped in with a goal as well. Stephanie Tripp and Heather Gionet shared keeper duties, neither having to make a save to preserve the shutout.

Gould 4, Hebron 3

HEBRON – Gould rallied from a 3-0 deficit with four unanswered goals in the final 12 minutes of the contest to top Hebron 4-3 in field hockey action on Wednesday.

Hillary Hough netted two goals, including the game-winner with just 15 seconds left on the clock. Shannon Littlefield and Alex MacMillan each contributed one to the Gould (2-1-1) victory.

The Hebron (2-3) effort was paced by Tiffany Bichrest with a goal and an assist, while Jasmine Webber and Kailey Bubier each scored one for the losing cause.

Livermore Falls 4, Jay 0

LIVERMORE FALLS – Taryn Flagg contributed a hat trick and the lone assist of the game as Livermore Falls posted a 4-0 victory over Jay in field hockey action on Wednesday afternoon.

The game was evenly matched throughout the first half of the contest, but the Andies (12-2) broke open the contest with four unanswered goals in the second half to notch the win. Rachel Ventrella scored the fourth goal of the game.

Danika Kelley and Danielle Therrien were solid at defense for the Andies.

Soccer

Rangeley 3, Greater Portland 2

RANGELEY – Ashley Morton scored an unassisted goal with 16:30 left in regulation to lift Rangeley to a 3-2 victory over Greater Portland Christian in a late-season girls’ soccer matchup on Wednesday.

Ashley Quimby notched a pair of goals for the Lakers (7-7) to complete the scoring. Kristy Jamison made six saves in net to post the win.

Vickie Woodward and Taylor Sarver scored for Greater Portland (4-2), while Elizabeth Starbird turned aside six shots in net.

Hall-Dale 1, Wiscasset 0

FARMINGDALE – Julia Nyitray tallied the unassisted game-winner 8:27 left in the contest to give Hall-Dale the 1-0 advantage over Wiscasset in girls’ soccer action Wednesday.

Chelsey Dionne was solid in net for Hall-Dale (5-7-1), making 10 saves to preserve the shutout. Wiscassets’ (5-6-2) Megan Foye also turned aside 10 shots.

St. Dom’s 2, Sacopee Valley 0

SACOPEE VALLEY – Jordan Paquet and Autumn Bell each scored a goal Wednesday as St. Dom’s rolled to a 2-0 victory over Sacopee Valley in WMC girl’s soccer action.

Heidi DeHann contributed for the Saints (8-4-1) with an assist on Paquet’s goal. Katie Lyons made two saves to record the shutout.

Janel Harrington handled netkeeping duties for the Hawks, turning away four shots on the day.

Boys’ soccer

Mt. Abram 5, Jay 1

JAY – Aaron Adams tallied a pair of goals as Mt. Abram swept past Jay, posting a 5-1 win in boys’ MVC soccer action on Wednesday afternoon.

Donald Chretien, Tucker Lander, and Alex Crossman each contributed a goal to the Roadrunners’ (6-6-2) win. Dave Fullerton dominated on defense for Mt. Abram.

The Tigers (4-9-1) came out strong in the first half of the contest, but relented to the Mt. Abram pressure in the latter half of the game.

John Gilbert netted the lone Jay goal after heading it into the net.

Mountain Valley 3, Telstar 2

BETHEL – Jon Gamble netted the game-winning goal, picking up a crossed pass at the six-yard line and redirecting it in to the net to lead Mountain Valley to a 3-2 victory over Telstar in boys’ soccer on Wednesday.

Gamble opened the Falcons’ (6-7-1) scoring and contributed an assist to the win as well. Byron Glaus rounded out the scoring.

A Telstar (10-4) goal was called back in the first half of the contest after a controversial offsides call, which would have given the Rebels a 2-1 lead going into the second half of the contest.

Louis Thornton and Max Meader each scored for the Telstar effort.
