LEWISTON – Sisters of Charity Health System/St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center will hold its first Volunteer Recruitment Fair from noon to 3:30 p.m.on Monday, Oct. 17, on a walk-in anytime basis in the Lepage Large Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave.
This will be an informal, informational event and an opportunity for those currently not involved to learn more about the variety of volunteer options available within the health system.
Volunteer needs are growing in both existing services and new volunteer driven initiatives such as the soon-to-open American Cancer Society Community Resource Center, which will be housed at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. In addition to the new Cancer Resource Center, other volunteer service areas represented will include: D’Youville Nursing Home, Pastoral Care, Grieving Children and Teens Program, the Food Pantry, The Foundation/Special Events and hospital-based services: Emergency Entrance Assistance Program, the Gift Cart Visitation and special project assistance.
Staff members and involved volunteers will be there to greet anyone interested in the volunteer program to provide information and answer questions about their volunteer area program or project. Light refreshments will be available and a door prizes will be given away.
