A campaign debate between President Carter and Ronald Reagan became a live possibility again Tuesday when the League of Women Voters decided to review John B. Anderson’s status as a real contender for the presidency.

Meanwhile, Reagan said he would appoint a woman to the first vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court as president; Carter claimed Reagan’s economic proposals would cost as least $140 billion in fiscal 1983; and Anderson said his own program would result in a balanced budget by then.
