LEWISTON – Bates College sophomore squash player Ricky Weisskopf has been selected to compete for his home country of El Salvador in the Pan Am Games to be held in El Salvador Oct. 24-31.

Weisskopf, one of two freshmen to be named All-American last season in squash, will represent El Salvador in the prestigious games.

Weisskopf was Bates’ first men’s squash player to make All-American, helping the team post a 23-3 record last year while earning Bates’ Male Athlete of the Year award.

Bates moves games

LEWISTON – Due to unplayable fields at Wesleyan University, Bates College’s football, field hockey, and men’s and women’s soccer games on Saturday have been moved to more suitable playing fields at new locations in Connecticut.

The Bates at Wesleyan football and field hockey games will each be played at Trinity College, with a start time of 1 p.m.

The Bates at Wesleyan soccer games have each been moved to Connecticut College. The women’s game will start at 11 a.m., while the men’s game will follow at 2 p.m.
