GARDINER – Housyn Carnegie recorded a hat trick to lead Lewiston to a 6-3 victory over Gardiner in KVAC soccer action.
Matt Manley, Dave Patry and Kyle Dusseault also tallied for the Blue Devils (10-3-1). Brian Nason made six saves in net to post the win.
The Blue Devils haled a 3-1 advantage at the break, then put the game out of reach for the Tigers with a strong second half.
Mike Abbott, Clinton Beckham and Mike Burden all scored goals for Gardiner, while Kolby Peckham turned aside 13 shots.
Greenville 4, Buckfield 0
GREENVILLE – Joe Jardine netted a pair of goals and added an assist to pace Greenville to a 4-0 romp over Buckfield.
Durgin McKusick and Corey Woodbury also tallied for the Lakers (13-0) to complete the scoring. Kyle Whitman contributed with an assist, while Brandon Lavigne made two saves in net to record the shutout.
Justin Dodge was busy in net for the Bucks (4-8), turning aside 18 shots.
Messalonskee 1, Mt. Blue 0
OAKLAND – Matt Deljudice scored the only goal of the game to lift Messalonskee to a 1-0 victory over Mt. Blue in KVAC boys’ soccer action Thursday.
The game was scoreless, going into the second half, when Deljudice scored on a breakaway 30 seconds into the frame for the Eagles.
The Cougars had an opportunity to tie up the contest on a breakaway with 17 minutes remaining in regulation, but could not convert. Goalie Justin Davis had 13 saves for Mt. Blue, while Kyle Joseph turned back five shots to earn the shutout.
Cony 2, Edward Little 1
AUBURN – Josh McInnis scored the winning goal with 3:42 remaining in regulation as Cony nipped Edward Little 2-1 on Thursday.
The Rams (5-7-2) got on the board first with an unassisted tally from John Demerchant.
The Red Eddies (7-5-2) evened up the contest at 1-1 midway through the second half before McInnis chipped in the game-winner from 18 yards out into the top left corner.
Medomak Valley 2, Oak Hill 2
WALES – John Wood and Jeremy Peterson came through with second-half goals for Medomak Valley to force a 2-2 tie with Oak Hill.
The Raiders (3-9-2) took a 2-0 advantage into the halftime break on the strength of goals by Kevin Laplante and Nate McDonald. Bob Glaude made 10 saves in net for the Panthers (4-9-1), while veteran keeper Mike Eaton turned away eight shots for Oak Hill.
