LEWISTON – In hope of providing a quiet, contemplative space for people to experience God’s presence in the middle of the busyness of daily life in the Lewiston/Auburn community, Trinity Episcopal Church will hold its second monthly Taize service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16. The service will consist of prayers, readings and meditative singing with several periods of silence. All are welcome.

The Taize community in France promotes a ministry of justice, kindheartedness and openness to all, rooted in the Gospel image of the compassionate Christ. The Taize Web site is www.taize.fr for more information.

Trinity Episcopal Church has, for many years, engaged with members of the L/A community in a ministry of hospitality, service and social justice, opening its doors to those in need. The church is the home of Trinity Jubilee Center, the heart of which is a meals program offering five meals weekly. Trinity also hosts several AA and NA meetings each week.

Trinity Episcopal Church holds weekly Sunday services at 9 a.m. The next Taize services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 20 and Dec. 18. Trinity is located at 247 Bates St., corner of Bates and Spruce streets, with the church entrance on the Bates Street side.
