FARMINGTON – The Farmington Youth Basketball Association (FYBA) is conducting tryouts for the boys and girls travel teams for the 2005-2006 season.

After surveying interest the FYBA will sponsor a 5th-6th-grade girls team, and a 5th-6th-grade boys team.

Tryouts will be held at Mt. Blue Middle School, Farmington Community Center & Cascade Brook School.

Girls’ tryouts are scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m., Monday, Oct., 24, at Farmington Community Center, and 5:15-6:45 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, at Cascade Brook School. Coach is Todd Bullen.

Boys’ tryouts are slated for 4-5:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 24, at Farmington Community Center, and 5:30-7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, at Mt Blue Middle School. Coach is Brian James.

Teams will be entered into the Central Maine Basketball League. Games will be held on Saturdays beginning Nov. 26 with the regular season ending on Jan. 28.

League playoffs will begin the following week.

There will be two week-day practices conducted at an area gymnasium.

A registration fee of $20 is assessed each player making the team. In addition a $5 non-resident fee is assessed to those participants who do not reside in Farmington, Farmington Falls, West Farmington or Fairbanks, or whose parents do not pay property taxes to the Town of Farmington. Checks may be made payable to the respective team coaches.

Parents of players are expected to assist with transportation to away games and assist with home game responsibilities.
