PORTLAND – Fernand R. Domingue, 82, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Maine Medical Center.

He was born to Evangeline and Evariste Domingue on Oct. 8, 1923, in Lewiston.

On Sept. 14, 1946, he married Muriel Beaulieu; she passed away in 1997.

He was a proud World War II veteran, having served his country in the 390th Battalion as a corporal. He was a member of the American Legion Post 153 in New Auburn.

He worked as a mechanic in local automotive dealerships: Flock Buick, Pontiac Center and Louis Chevrolet, until his retirement in 1998.

He lived in Masardis with his daughter and her husband, and will be sadly missed by his feline companion, Bandit.

He is survived by his daughters, Noella Craig and her husband, John, of Masardis, and Nancy Fournier and husband, Michael, of Lewiston; granddaughters, Tracy Goulet of Auburn, and Tricia Sierra and husband, Valentin, of Lewiston; grandsons, Jacob, Ryan, Chad and Shawn Fournier of Lewiston, and John E. Craig and wife, Michelle, of Winterport; great-grandchildren, Trista Keene, Shawn, Lindsay, LT and Tatiana Sierra, and Chelsey, Kaydie and Barrett Craig; numerous nieces and nephews; and sisters, Lucille Smith and husband, Elbert, of Clermont, Fla., and Jeannine Pare and husband, Alphonse, of Vassalboro.

He was predeceased by his wife, Muriel; his sister, Theresa Bedford; brother, Robert Domingue; and granddaughter, Sara Raymond.
