RUMFORD – Soleil Mathieu scored the first and only goal Lisbon would need to blank Mountain Valley 3-0 in MVC girls’ soccer action Thursday.

Kerstin Fairbanks and Sierra Guay rounded out the scoring with a goal apiece to put the Greyhounds (8-3-3) up 3-0 at the half.

Karri McPherson made six saves for the Falcons (2-9-3), while Sam Purcell turned back all five shots she faced to earn the shutout.

Mt. Abram 5, Monmouth 1

SALEM – Morgan Cummings led a group of five players Thursday as Mt. Abram rolled past Monmouth 5-1 in an MVC girls’ soccer matchup.

Jennifer Thomas, Loghan Walker, Rebecca London and Heather Hayes also tallied for the Roadrunners (11-2-1) to complete the scoring. Thomas and Brianna Wilkins combined for five saves.

Jenn Lola tallied lone goal for the Mustangs (6-6-2) in the second half, while Courtney Barrett turned back 13 shots in net.

Messalonskee 1, Mt. Blue 0

FARMINGTON – Kaitlin Watson scored the lone goal to lift Messalonskee to a 1-0 victory over Mt. Blue in KVAC girls’ soccer action Thursday.

During a scramble in front of the net, the ball deflected off the goalie to Watson, who put the Eagles (11-0-3) on the board with a shot into the far corner.

The Cougars (6-6-2) fought a tough battle in what could have been an upset against the undefeated Eagles.

Mt. Blue goalie Caitlin Scott matched Messalonskee goalie Katie O’Leary, who earned the shutout, with six saves.

Maranacook 9, Mt. View 1

READFIELD – Jackie Mrazik netted five goals and added an assist Thursday to pace Maranacook to a 9-1 rout over Mt. View in the season final regular-season contest for both squads.

Eryn Neptune scored two goals for the Black Bears (12-1-1), while Alyssa Neptune and Alyssa Betts also tallied to complete the scoring. Melissa Piper made three saves to notch the win.

Alison Abrahamson netted the Mustangs’ lone goal, while Andrea Bryant turned away 19 shots in net. Mrazik set a new single-season school record for goals with 32, breaking the previous record of 30 set in 2003 by Toby Martin.

Edward Little 6, Cony 0

AUGUSTA – Muriel Schwinn led a group of six different players to score as Edward Little rolled over Cony 6-0 in a KVAC girls’ soccer matchup.

Olivia Welch, Danielle Paul, Lindsey St. Hilaire, Kelsea Pettengil and Alyssa Levesque also tallied for the Red Eddies (8-4-2). Brittany French needed only two saves to preserve the shutout.

Hally Parker handled netkeeping duties for the Rams (0-14), turning aside five shots.

Lewiston 7, Gardiner 0

LEWISTON – Laura Martel recorded a hat trick and added an assist to lead Lewiston to a 7-0 rout of Gardiner in a KVAC girls’ soccer matchup Thursday.

Lewiston shot out to a 5-0 lead in the first half and never looked back. Katie Nadeau and Lea Chouinard played a strong game defensively for Lewiston.

Amanda Lepage, Kelsey Rodrigue, Mallory Long and Ali Morin also tallied for the Blue Devils (10-2-2). Katie Cobb needed only four saves to record the shutout.

Beth Sally handled netminding duties for the Tigers, turing away 19 shots.

Winthrop 1, Mt. Blue 0

WINTHROP – Jaime Pacheco connected on a free kick to lift Winthrop to a 1-0 triumph over Mt. Blue in MVC girls’ soccer action Thursday.

Katherine Fortin was moving down the field on a partial breakaway when she was hauled down to set up a free kick. Pacheco buried the free kick into the back of the net with 17:10 left in regulation for the Ramblers (9-3-2).

Goalie Christina Chow had 12 saves for the Cougars (10-2-2), while the Winthrop goalie Katie Pushard turned back eight for the shutout victory.

Fryeburg 6, Poland 0

POLAND – Fe Hart and Anna Barber scored a pair of goals as Fryeburg sailed to a 6-0 victory over Poland in WMC girls’ soccer action Thursday.

The Raiders marched to a 4-0 lead at the half.

Felicia Heart and Correane Henessy rounded out the scoring for Fryeburg.

Goalie Ellen Head nailed down 13 saves for Fryeburg, while Knights’ goalie Melanie Cloutier kept the game from getting out of hand with 22 saves.

Medomak Valley 4, Oak Hill 0

WALDOBORO – Four different players scored in equally parsed halves as Medomak Valley took a 4-0 win from Oak Hill.

Stephanie Lee and Angie Abbott secured the Panther’s (7-6-1) first half goals for a 2-0 lead at the midpoint.

The Raiders (2-9-2) failed to gain any steam as the Panthers took full advantage of the field, scoring another pair of goals in the second half.

Goalie Courtney Seguin batted away 22 shots for Oak Hill, while Jamie Schneider notched the shutout victory with 10 saves for Medomak Valley.
